Beach High Alumni Owns South Florida Sports Franchise

Hi-Tide Pride swims as Beach High Alumni, Stephen Ross, has purchased a 95 percent share in the Miami Dolphins franchise.  Ross, class of —–, initially became involved in the Dolphins organization back in February of 2008, when he reached an agreement with then, majority owner, Wayne Huizenga, to buy 50 percent of the team, stadium, and surrounding lands, for $550 million.  After spending a year as the part-owner of the NFL team with the greatest turnaround in league history, Ross acquired an extra 45percent share of the Dolphins, making him the clubs majority owner.

After Ross’ graduation from Beach High in —– he attended the University of Florida undergrad, Michigan University for Business School, earned a Juris Doctor from the Wayne State School of Law, and received a Masters of Law Degree in Taxation from the law school at New York University. Currently, aside from being the owner of the Miami Dolphins, Ross is ———————————————-.

(Paragraph on why and how Ross became involved in owning the Miami Dolphins franchise, as well as his attempts at owning other professional sports teams.)

Attendance for the Miami Dolphins is not where it once was, and Ross is actively working to fix that problem. His solution: bring in entertainment to appeal to those non-diehard football fanatics. For the 2009 season, Ross hopes to install a celebrity atmosphere. New minority Dolphins owners include tennis superstars Serena and Venus Williams, musicians Emilio and Gloria Estefan, and singer Marc Anthony. Ross has collaborated with rapper, Pitbull, and hip hop artist and producer T-Pain, to develop a modernized version of the current Miami Dolphins fight song.

On a greater level, life-long Dolphins fan, and polo and sandal sporting musician, Jimmy Buffett, has partnered up with the Parrothead, Ross, to re-name the stadium formerly known as Dolphin Stadium, to Lank Shark Stadium. The new name comes from Land Shark Lager, which is Buffet’s beer brand. Expect Buffet to play an integral part in the entertainment at this year Dolphins home games.

Expect this Dolphins football season to be quite different from any others in the past as Stephen Ross brings his South Beach flavor to the South Florida organization.  (Insert quote from Ross here).
