*quote from coach camarati.. A.K.A the ‘BIG CHAMP’, ” the team has improved from last year so far but i cant tell yet because, we still have districts and regionals to go to”

*they practice 5 day a week from 2:30 to 5:00

*quote from junior claudia llanes ” this year the team is more together and organized we practice along with the boys and it makes it feel more like a team”

Hey Aaron, I’m going to write a summary after tommorow’s game (probably on saturday) about how the team is doing, if they look like they’re going to do well, and what the odds of their winning the next game is

  • amaliar2011 // December 8, 2007 at 7:26 pm |

The article you asked for is up. Please edit it

  • stephaniea2009 // December 10, 2007 at 6:06 pm |

    Hey Aaron,
I made a suggestion to Mr. Weiss for our sports section because as far as I know it has not been working out to well for either side. Alex asked me to please leave you a note on what the idea was .. Instead of having the girls go to the games I suggested that we highlight star players of each team (for that season) and just write several different mini stories on several players. I gave the newspaper from which I got the idea to Stephanie O’lephan one of your writers so that she could see the actual outcome.
I think it should work things out and the newspaper would still have a pretty interesting sports section AND it would make things easier for you !

If you have any comments or
concerns please leave me a note

    thank you (:

  • amaliar2011 // December 12, 2007 at 2:49 am |

Hey, I like your idea and I got stats on Donnie Gator. I can also write short summary on the previous game and how he did on it. I don’t know about talking to the coach since he teaches classes and I’ll have trouble getting to Donnie since he has a core class during seventh period, but I’ll try my best.

  • amaliar2011 // December 12, 2007 at 6:17 pm |

Hey, I won’t be able to cover tonights game (SORRY!) but I can get the score from one of the cheerleaders. I might be able to cover Friday’s but it might be changed because my parents are working late and I might not have a ride (I’m not allowed to go on any bus). I’m working on the player article but I might not be able to talk to the coach until Friday although I might try to do an e-mail interview.
Again, sorry about not being able to make it to the game.

  • amaliar2011 // December 13, 2007 at 1:33 am |

the size of the article is perfect for me. I just sent an e-mail to Garcia to get the stats of the strongest player and then interview him. I’ll try to make it by the 18th (its probably gonna happen) but I’ll notify you if something comes up. What are the stats of today’s game? I”l need to write them down somewhere for future referance.

  • amaliar2011 // December 13, 2007 at 2:14 am |

Could you please edit the basketball summary? I’m really proud of it. I think that i went over the limit, feel free to cut anyhting that you want for the paper as it tends to get repetative.

  • alexco09 // December 13, 2007 at 7:09 pm |

Aaron, you NEED to edit Amalia’s Basketball Summary. Please edit it and then NOTIFY Mr. Weiss and myself when you do so.

  • amaliar2011 // December 14, 2007 at 6:18 pm |

I’m goig to do some edits because I guess that there was confusion about some of the quotes. The Orlando quote was about the recent game.

  • amaliar2011 // December 16, 2007 at 5:16 pm |

He, Aaron, I’m sorry, but I’m running into major trouble with the article that you assigned me to do. The coach isn’t answering any of my e-mails, he has class when I have Weiss and I haven’t been able to do anything after school because of complications at home could you please either give me suggestions or extend my deadline?

  • hitides // December 23, 2007 at 2:29 am |

    Hi Aaron,

I will edit what you have posted and put it up on the beachcomber site over break . Enjoy your time off.

Is there anything else you are missing right now? I’ll check with Alex, too.

  • amaliar2011 // January 6, 2008 at 3:38 pm |

Aaron, I assumed that you would get the point that I couldn’t get the article. But, anyways, I have my 3 mandatory articles ready, you can work with that right?
I’m using the “expectations” article the Pep Rally article and the Season summary. Those are the ones that I’m going to give Mr.Weiss and I don’t think that you need anyhting different.

  • inesm2011 // January 16, 2008 at 3:06 am |

hi….i already posted the girl’s soccer team profiles, theyre on the front page

  • jdermer // January 23, 2008 at 12:44 am |

  • joselyng2010 // January 26, 2008 at 2:42 am |

Hey Aaron weiss told me to start writing about the girls volleyball team EXCEPT season is over. So now I have to do rewrite the prewrite of the girls softball team. (varsity) so don’t pay attention to the post I wrote.

  • robertar2008 // January 29, 2008 at 3:30 am |

    Hey guys,

It’s Roberta. My best friend in Philly told me about this program…this is an even easier, fun and more profitable way to do the compatability thing! Please check out the website and the sample questionnaires and results pages. It’s way more attractive than our homemade thing would be, way more accurate and also very cheap and we can definately afford it!

Unlikely Giants Surprise Country with Win over Patriots in Super Bowl 42.

It is considered one of the greatest upsets in football history. It was David and Goliath at its finest. In one of the most unlikely endings in Super Bowl history, the New York Giants defeated the then undefeated New England Patriots 17-14 in Super Bowl 42.
This Super Bowl was a matchup of two completely different teams, which had two completely different seasons. The patriots were the bully of the NFL but also became loved by so many fans and writers. Before the big game, there was constant talk about the 2007-2008 Patriots being the greatest team of all time. After their victory against the Chargers in the AFC championship game, they became the first NFL team to go 18 games into the season and not lose a single won. (The 1972 Dolphins won all 17 of their games. Up until 1978, the NFL only played a 14 game regular season). Their quarterback, Tom Brady became the heartthrob of every female football fan around the country on his way to breaking the single season touchdown record. The team ended up with the record for the most points in the regular season.

  • alexco09 // February 15, 2008 at 5:51 pm |

aaron, i need you to please look at my blog and see a more or less revised version of your super bowl article. i need you to clarify the questions i left in all caps throughout the article. Thanks.

  • alexco09 // February 16, 2008 at 12:55 am |

aaron, here’s what i need you to do: i need you to take a holistic look at the article. and take out EVERYTHING that DOESN’T have to do with the super bowl that happened on feb 11 (or 10, or whenever it was).

i feel like you have too many things going on in your article. It starts off as what happened in the super bowl, then moves on to other things about the dolphins, then it shifts to cheating from 1972. i’m all for it if you want to write articles about those things if you want, BUT this SPECIFIC article is strictly on what happened in the super bowl, that’s all it takes. If you want to, you can take out from what you already have and put together a shorter super bowl article, and THEN piece together another article (maybe loosely related on the SB) about the cheating and dolphins in 1972 and whatnot. Your choice. Just please have this into me by tomorrow afternoon. i’m sorry for the short notice. remember, it’s not like your re-writing; you’ve written enough. you just need to organize your thoughts in your writing. make as many articles as you want from this ONE you’ve already written. Thanks

  • joselyng2010 // April 9, 2008 at 6:09 pm |

  • joselyng2010 // April 9, 2008 at 6:24 pm |

Hey I am planning on interviewing Alberto, the coach Garcia, the captain and team members. Who else should I interview? What should I put into the article? Thanks for all the help :)
